There's no point in having a long recap of all the nice things that happened in these 3 months of being an intern at Google so I'll keep this short:

I've learned a lot, I've seen a lot of new places and I've meet a lot of interesting people.
All in all it was one of the greatest experiences ever and I'm really happy that I had the chance to do it.

Cya around!.

Buh-bye

So here I was. My 3 months of internship over, not a googler anymore, heading back to uni.
I left America with mixed feelings. I knew I would miss all the fun people I've met, working at google, seeing new places and eating new foods.
On the other hand I was going back to family and friends so this was a real +. It could have been a bigger + but ...that's another story.
Anyway ... after this post there will be another one, the last one on this blog, in which I will write some thoughts about the whole American experience.
Last batch of pictures:

My bed. A mess as always.

Silhouette of a squirrel on an electric cable. :D....art :D

Blue angels & CO

The last weekend that I've spent in the US happened to be the time in which San Francisco celebrated Navy week. With this occasion there were several events happening: boat cruises, historic stuff and the most interesting for me: an airplane show or whatever it's called.

We got there one hour before the Blue Angels where scheduled to start their program. We found a good place to watch the show and I started snapping pictures as the planes went by.

A couple of pictures that are not quite on-topic:

The Patriots team were first :

The photo above was the start of the team creating a huge heart sign in the sky. The two planes were using different colored smoke to create the sign and a third plane made the "arrow" passing through the heart. Show-offs.

Next, Team Oracle, using one of the best plane for doing acrobatic stunts showed us some fantastic moves that seemed to defy gravity and the human limits.

I didn't take a lot of pictures of this part of the show partly because I was too far away from the place where the plane was doing his stunts ( even for my 70-300 mm) but also because I was too amazed by the possibilities of the plane to take the time to shoot it.

After that the time was drawing closer for the Blue Angels to start their show.

At first one of their transport planes made several passes in the sky. I think that I saw a movie on the web in which this plane needed auxiliary rockets to be able to take off the ground on a short runway.

Then the Blue Angels showed up flying from behind the hills in a perfect formation.

The famous "fleur-de-lis" move.

Another cool maneuver called "Section High Alpha" where the pilots break to a very low speed and raise the nose of the airplane to 45 degrees.

After completing a pass over the bay area the Blue Angels got out of their view to prepare for the next one. In one of these brief moments when there were no planes in the sky this group of birds flew into our line of sight. The whole crowd started laughing and clapping their hands. It was like the birds sent their "Blue angels" to show that they can be as good if not better then their human counterparts. A nice moment anyway.

Although the Blue Angels were not as impressive as I hoped, It was a very cool air show. I should go again ;).
